The Brief

1 - Build your own face (Weeks 1 – 5)

You are to build a 3D version of your own face and head using spline modelling from the tutorials specified.

I am looking forward to this module, as I really enjoyed the previous animation module. I learned a lot last year and will be able to further expand my 3ds Max skills and techniques this year. I haven’t used the spline tool before so it will be good to learn how it is used for this first part of the brief. I preferred the modleing to the animation so feel I will enjoy this part of the module.

2 – In teams of three or four, using 3D Studio Max, you are to produce an animation to show how the Guildhall would have been utilised over the centuries, this can be specifically i.e. how the Guildhall has impacted on the local population, or how it has been used to support the community or generically, how Guildhalls have been part of British history and how the Guildhall at Finchingfield fits into that broader picture.

Or

Taking the plans for the redevelopment of the Guildhall, produce an animation to show how the new building works will look when finished, incorporating an architectural walk through of the renovation work, and show how different groups in the community will utilise the restructured hall.

The second part of the assignment seems a little more daunting, but with the correct research and planning of time it should be very interesting. The second part of this brief sounds more interesting and I like the idea of modelling and renovating the building.
